General Electric VHF MVP APRS Digipeater
Here is an APRS digipeater made from a surplus $20.00 GE MVP mobile radio
This is the actual N4NEQ-3 Digi, which operated 100% flawlessly
at a 5000' North Carolina Site for 10 years.

Shown with a TNC for size comparison
A view or the rear of the radio showing the Antenna and Power connectors.
This is a top view inside the MVP. The vertical bar down the center is the casting containing the five helical resonators. Properly tuned, these keep most "grunge" out of the receiver. The PA (Power Amplifier) is on the right side.
Bottom view of the MVP. On the left is the receiver section. The IF and Audio section is on the right.
This is the small enclosure that holds the crystal.
Top view of channel element showing the crystal and the frequency adjustment capacitor.
